Kristen Friedman is a contemporary artist whose work centers on painting and sculpting through limited color palettes and richly layered textures. Her practice emphasizes restraint and materiality, allowing form, emotion, and surface to carry meaning. In parallel with her studio work, Friedman designs physical spaces as complete concepts—shaping atmosphere and experience beyond traditional interior design. Whether working on canvas, in three-dimensional form, or within a built environment, her work explores depth, balance, and presence through simplicity.

About

I’ve spent over a decade developing my practice in painting and sculpture, much of it self-taught, exploring texture, form, and the nuances of material. My work extends beyond the studio into physical spaces, where I’ve translated ideas into fully realized projects through experience in real estate investment and long-standing client collaborations. This blend of art and environment allows me to shape experiences that feel cohesive, intentional, and alive.
